What is PLA?

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a type of plastic used in 3D printing. It’s one of the most popular materials for beginners because it’s easy to use and eco-friendly.

Why is PLA special?

✅ Made from Plants – Unlike regular plastic, which comes from oil, PLA is made from natural sources like corn starch or sugarcane.
✅ Biodegradable – It breaks down over time in industrial composting, making it more environmentally friendly.
✅ Easy to Print – It melts at a low temperature, doesn’t warp much, and doesn’t need special equipment.
✅ Safe & Non-Toxic – It’s safe to use indoors since it doesn’t release harmful fumes while printing.

Where is PLA used?

3D printing (toys, prototypes, home decorations)
Food packaging (cups, straws, containers)
Medical implants (since it’s biodegradable inside the body)
